A lot of people have good success against the spambots using email links that distort their email address in some way. For example, my email link links to dave--@--wordmunger--.--com, and I follow the link with the instructions "remove dashes"
Of course, I still get tons of spam, and I have no idea how much of it comes from spambots who've deciphered my code.
just a quick note to tell that your feed doesn't show up in bloglines at the moment.

What a pity that you only pick up people living in the UK & Ireland for your study.
Given the accessibility of internet, to my opinion it could be interesting to have a bigger sample (anyway, you can analize your results controlling any variable, such as "country")
