The actual quote (from the bible) is

"for the love of money is the root of all evil"

The emphasis is on the adoration of money rather than the object itself.

Money can't be evil ;-)

That old saying "money is the root of all evil" while not being entirely correct is in my opinion not far off - maybe it should be "money is the root of a lot of evil".
Basically, money seems to bring out some of the worst human qualities - in particular, greed. At a base level it represents or symbolises having or not having. And stupidly, it seems to then link to the ego - people who are rich get this bizarre idea that it somehow makes them "better" than others. And so on and so on it goes....
Take ti to the absolute extreme and you have these ridiculously wealthy arab sheiks - just yesterday someone sent me a thing about one of them showing all the opulence of their palace etc. and the piece de resistance (Ok I know thats probably not spelt correctly but I can't be bothered looking it up) was a car - a silver Audi specially made for the sheik. That's not a silver painted audi, but an audi made of solid silver. Now tell me what is the point of that other than to fuel the already ballistic ego of this idiot? I'm sure the starving and dying millions in third world countries around the world would be mightily impressed.

I'm really interested in that part about people being reminded of money and distancing themselves from people. That sounds all too familiar to me to not want to read about.

Great article, I am going to link to this weekly series so more people know about this.

Keep 'em coming.

As far as money and gambling goes, bingo, my friend, welcome to the stock market.

But you hit it on the nose with "your system of money management needs to 'fit' your personality."
