His experiment with the rhesus monkeys has, in my opinion, had a dramatic affect on how young children are cared for as it shows the psychological effects that privation and deprivation has. Hospitals used to believe that when a child was ill he should be taken away from his parents until he recovered - we now know that this is possibly one of the worst things to do, and this experiment certainly impacted on this revelation.
